Southern Onion Pork Chops with Brown Basmati Rice

INGREDIENTS
- 1 Cup Della Basmati Brown Rice
- 1 cup broccoli
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp fine salt, divided
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 bone-in pork chops
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 sweet yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup chicken broth, divided
- 1.5 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp ground sage
- Garnish: Parsley

Cook Della Basmati Brown Rice as instructed. Pluck some parsley leaves and slice onion. Mix garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Rub this on both sides of the pork chops.

Heat some oil in a pan on medium-high. When it’s hot, add the pork chops. Cook each side for 3–4 minutes until brown. Take them out and set them aside.
In a small pan, add a little water, salt, and broccoli. Let it boil, then cover it and turn off the heat. Let the steam cook the broccoli.

Back in the pork chop pan, add more oil and pour in 1/4 cup of broth. Stir to loosen the brown bits at the bottom. Add the sliced onions and cook until soft and brown. Sprinkle in a little flour and stir. Pour in the rest of the broth, stir again, and add a little sage and salt. Let it bubble until the sauce thickens. Put the pork chops back in the pan. Spoon the onions and sauce over them. Cook until the pork is done.

Put the rice, pork chops, and broccoli on a plate. Sprinkle parsley on top and enjoy!
