Brown Basmati Rice With Lemon
| 1 Tbsp | Canola Oil |
| 2 Cloves | Garlic, crushed or minced |
| 3 Tbsp | Shallots, finely chopped |
| 2 Tbsp | Lemon Juice |
| 1/2 Tbsp | Lemon zest |
| 1/2 Tsp | Sugar |
| 1 Tbsp | Fresh parsley, finely chopped |
| 1 Cup | Della Brown Basmati Rice |
| 2 1/2 Cups | Vegetable or Chicken Stock |
| Salt and Freshly Ground Pepper to taste |
Heat the oil in a medium pot (with a lid), over medium high heat. Add the garlic and shallots and cook stirring constantly for 1 minute or until the garlic starts to brown.
Add the rice, vegetable or chicken stock, lemon juice, lemon zest, sugar, and parsley. Stir well. Season with salt and pepper, cover pot and reduce heat to medium low. Let the rice cook for 35-40 minutes, stirring half way through or until all the liquid has been absorbed and the rice is cooked.
